The Port Oysteria & Brewery Introduces Outdoor Beer Garden Ahead of Restaurant Debut in Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG, Va., Aug. 10, 2023 – The Port Oysteria & Brewery (The Port) is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Outdoor Beer Garden, accompanied by the launch of four distinct beers, on Friday, August 18, 2023. While the interior construction at 106 George Street continues, this outdoor addition is poised to offer a distinctive experience for Fredericksburg residents.

The Outdoor Beer Garden will be introduced to the public starting at 5 pm, following a special private invite-only event from 4 pm to 5 pm. The lineup will feature four beers on tap: Honey Blonde, West Coast IPA, Vienna Lager, and Hefeweizen. To complement the brews, Juan More Taco will be on-site with their food truck, adding to the festive atmosphere.

“The Outdoor Beer Garden marks a significant step in our journey toward opening. It offers a unique, open-air setting for friends and families to gather and taste The Port’s selection of craft beer,” said Joel Griffin, Partner of The Port. “Meanwhile, we’re working hard behind the scenes and inside the restaurant toward our grand opening in 2024, which we’ll be announcing more information on soon.”

The Outdoor Beer Garden promises a distinctive experience for guests in Fredericksburg, an addition that underscores the commitment of parent-company Riphean Hospitality to craft immersive experiences that celebrate the unique character of each region.

David Stallard, Vice President of Operations at Riphean Hospitality, shared, “We wanted to create an outdoor space that was casual but also inviting for our guests to stop in and enjoy a pint of locally crafted beer, whether out walking the dog, finishing up a walk around our historic downtown district, or stopping in for a pint before an evening out on the town or dinner in one of the many downtown dining establishments.”

The Outdoor Beer Garden will welcome guests every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm. Embracing the essence of classic beer gardens, the environment will be relaxed with both seated and standing options. To enhance the experience, The Port will be partnering with local food trucks to visit on site and is in the process of incorporating growlers for purchase, ensuring that patrons can take home a piece of The Port experience.

Looking ahead to the upcoming Fall season, The Port has plans to extend its hours, embracing the community with the addition of Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Collaborating closely with local artisans and shops, the establishment is also in talks to introduce popup stores, providing guests with a delightful outdoor browsing opportunity while enjoying the beer garden. This expansion promises more chances for individuals to relish the relaxed setting and diverse offerings of The Port’s Outdoor Beer Garden.
