FREDERICKSBURG, Va., Aug. 30, 2023 – The Port Oysteria & Brewery (The Port) is proud to announce the grand opening of its Outdoor Beer Garden, following a successful debut earlier this month. The Beer Garden will welcome guests every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm, with extended hours on Saturday and Sunday afternoons planned for this fall.
The Beer Garden’s opening coincides with the launch of The Port’s four signature beers: The Honey Blonde Ale, Vienna Lager, American IPA, and Hefeweizen.
- Honey Blonde Ale: A Belgian-inspired blonde ale crafted with Pilsner malt, flaked oats, bitter orange peel, coriander, and grains of paradise. It features a delightful complexity enhanced by a generous quantity of orange blossom honey and pairs exceptionally well with seafood and poultry dishes.
- Vienna Lager: A classic German-style amber lager brewed with authentic German malt, German hops, and yeast from Weinstephaner, the world’s oldest brewery. It boasts a slightly malty and exceptionally clean taste.
- American IPA: A classic American IPA brewed with premium pale ale malt, a touch of Caramel malt, and a classic American ale yeast. This beer is generously dry-hopped with Centennial hops grown in Oregon, delivering a bold and distinctive flavor.
- Hefeweizen: This summer-inspired German wheat beer is brewed with German malted wheat, German hops, and yeast from Weinstephaner brewery. It offers light notes of banana and spicy clove phenols, making it the perfect summer beer.
David Stallard, Vice President of Riphean Hospitality, the parent company of The Port, shared his excitement, “We are thrilled to welcome everyone to our beer garden and share the positive response we’ve received for our beers. Our brewer, Danny, has done an exceptional job in crafting these offerings.”
The Beer Garden offers a laid-back atmosphere with both covered and open-air seating, as well as cornhole for entertainment, suitable for guests of all ages. The Port also hosts local food trucks periodically on-site, adding to the culinary delights.
In addition to extending the Beer Garden’s hours later this year, The Port is actively exploring collaboration with Fredericksburg artisans and shops to introduce pop-up stores. This initiative aims to provide our guests with an engaging outdoor shopping experience, support local businesses, and enhance the Beer Garden’s offerings. They are also in the process of introducing growlers for sale, allowing patrons to take home their favorite selections.
Beer enthusiasts and local residents are invited to experience the Beer Garden at 106 George St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401, every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm. For additional details, please contact David Stallard at DSTALLARD@RIPHEANHOSPITALITY.COM.
